The long and winding road is coming to an end as 38 district baseball and softball teams prepare for the final athletic event on the school year this week on the TribLive High School Sports Network.

We have video and audio coverage for some of those schools Monday with the first round of the PIAA baseball and softball playoffs. The quarterfinals are set for Thursday.

HSSN also has a Class 3A state semifinals match Tuesday in the PIAA boys volleyball playoffs.

Plus, we continue our district diamond updates with new Rebel Yell podcasts recapping each round of the baseball and softball state playoffs.

London commuters urged to avoid strike-hit network on Monday - Reuters UK

LONDON, June 5 (Reuters) - London's transport network operator has urged commuters to avoid travelling on Monday when a 24-hour strike is expected to lead to widespread disruption on underground train services in the British capital.

Transport for London (TfL) said that while it expected some train services to run on Monday, a majority of stations were expected to close or operate on reduced hours, and that the disruption would run into Tuesday morning.

Buses and overground train services are expected to run as normal, but may be busier than usual.

The transport operator had proposed not filling more than 500 jobs when they became vacant as part of a government-mandated drive to cut running costs and make the service financially sustainable.

The RMT transport union wants the Mayor of London to raise taxes to fund the city's transport network. It says a looming threat to its pensions also remains in place.

"I'd like to apologise to London for the impact this strike will have," TfL Chief Operating Officer Andy Lord said. "We know it's going to be damaging to London and the economy, at a time when public transport is playing a crucial role in the capital's recovery."

Kochi-based co launches e-marine tech to equip boats with electric modular kits - Gadgets Now

Kochi-based Yesen Sustain, a clean-tech company, has launched a marine technology to equip boats and other watercraft with electric modular kits. The company claims the technology to electrify the existing and new marine craft was being used for the first time in the world.

"e-marine technology will help electrify existing and new boats at affordable prices, with a fast return on investment. It will help reduce carbon footprint across the world by revolutionising the way fisheries and water-tourism industries work by replacing the usage of fossil fuels," the company said in a release.

Yesen Sustain is one of the first clean-tech companies in the world with more than 2,500 accomplished clean-tech projects to its credit, the release said.

"It is for the first time in the world that such solar and electric modular kits are launched which can be retrofitted with existing boats. e-marine will be a big leap for the fisheries and tourism industries across the world which will help replace the existing usage of fossil fuels, mostly diesel," said George Mathew, CEO and co-founder, Yesen Sustain, at a launch function here on Thursday.

The technology has been indigenously developed by Yesen Sustain at its Kochi-based facilities with technical tie-ups with world's leading OEMs in the industry, including Hyper Craft, Elco, Polarium, CETL and enArka, he said.

e-marine offers pre-engineered electrification and solarisation kits which can be retrofitted to existing marine vessels the same way people retrofit gas and CNG kits to petrol and diesel vehicles, said the release.

"Compared to IC engines, the new technology is fast and affordable. It can recover the investment in less than three years," it said.

The company claims that retrofitting of outboard engines can be done in less than two hours and inboard engines in less than seven days.

The kits come with liquid-cooled marine battery packs to meet the harsh environmental operating conditions. In addition to these, multi-level safety systems ensure fail-proof safety to occupants and vessels.

The launch event also witnessed operational display of a range of new and existing water vessels fitted and retrofitted with the new e-marine kits. For Indian operations, the company has tied up shipyard partners, including Samudra Shipyard and Matha Marines.

New Unisoc chipset vulnerability could allow remote denial of network services - GSMArena.com news - GSMArena.com

Check Point Research, a cyber security research firm has recently published its findings on a new vulnerability discovered in the baseband processor of Unisoc chipsets. Simply put, the vulnerability affects the network modem that is part of the chipset and responsible for network connectivity. It could theoretically allow an attacker to send a corrupted network packet and disable or interrupt the device's network connectivity. As far as we know, that's the extent to which the vulnerability can be used so far.

We also can't be sure just how many Unisoc chipsets are susceptible to this sort of attack. Check Point Research discovered the vulnerability by reverse engineering the LTE protocol stack implementation on a Unisoc T700 chip inside a Motorola Moto G20 phone (XT2128-2) with a January 2022 security patch installed.

However, what is known is that, as per standard procedure in these sorts of cases, Check Point Research informed Unisoc of the findings back in May before publishing them publicly. The findings were confirmed, and the Unisoc team marked the vulnerability as critical with a 9.4 rating and created a fix that Google has already confirmed will be part of the new Android Security Bulletin. That essentially means that any affected users can expect the fix to arrive in the next Android security patch for their device.

Unfortunately, there isn't anything else users can do before that happens. And there is no specific timeline either since security updates are dependent on manufacturer and often carrier schedules. Seeing how most devices powered by Unisoc chips are more affordable and hence tend to receive less frequent support, this vulnerability could be around for quite some time. Thankfully, at least, it seems like any large-scale denial of service and potential damages that might follow is an unlikely scenario since it would likely require tampering with network equipment. Still, as per the source, Unisoc has 11% global market share, so this could be a very widespread concern.

‘Magnum P.I.’ May Be Rescued By NBC & USA Network Following CBS Cancellation - Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Magnum P.I. is looking to join an elite group of popular broadcast series that have overcome shocking cancellations to continue their runs. No one is commenting, but I hear talks are underway for NBC and/or USA Network to potentially carry the series starring Jay Hernandez.

An arrangement still is being figured out, but I hear one scenario is for new episodes to air on NBC while USA would run previous seasons of the action drama, a reboot of the 1980s series that starred Tom Selleck.

TV Cancellations Photo Gallery: Shows Ending In 2022 & Beyond

Immediately following CBS’ surprise May 12 cancellation of Magnum P.I. after four seasons, Universal Television, which co-produces the series with CBS Studios, sprung into action and started exploring potential new homes for the show, I hear.

Basic cable network USA quickly emerged as a contender, with NBC entering the conversation soon thereafter. Paramount+ also had been mentioned as a possibility, but the focus recently has been on the two NBCUniversal linear networks as a viable option. I hear conversations are progressing and are now in advanced stages.

A pickup of Magnum P.I. by a new network would be contingent on a deal being made with CBS Studios. I hear negotiations between NBCU and the Paramount Global studio have not started yet.

Fall 2022 Primetime TV Grid: No Fox (Yet) As Nets Play It Safe With Much More Of The Same

As co-producing entities, Universal TV and CBS Studios have split rights, with Universal TV handling international and CBS spearheading domestic off-network sales. Interestingly, four years into its run, Magnum P.I. has not been taken out yet to domestic cable or SVOD buyers, and I hear there is no price tag on the show’s library yet, something that will need to be sorted out. It is not clear yet whether Paramount+ might be interested in the SVOD library rights or Peacock would emerge as the strongest possibility, keeping the series within the NBCU family across linear and digital.

All sides have until the end of the month to hammer out an agreement. If negotiations stretch beyond that, Universal TV will have to extend the options on the cast, which are up June 30.

Magnum P.I. is a marquee title in Universal’s TV library. Additionally, the reboot, a rare broadcast drama with a Latino lead, has been a Top 25 show in total viewers. It is believed to be the most-watched broadcast series to get the ax this upfront season. Its cancellation came after lengthy and complex talks between CBS and Universal Television, which also is behind CBS’ FBI franchise and The Equalizer. Following tough negotiations, the other four series, which are among CBS’ top ratings performers, received multi-season renewals. The feeling was that under different circumstances, Magnum P.I. likely would have made the cut, with CBS’ 2022 drama pilots coming in strong also likely factoring into what the network’s brass described as a difficult decision to cancel Magnum P.I.
