D-FW pizza joint Cane Rosso will again appear on Food Network TV show - The Dallas Morning News

At 8 p.m. Feb. 28, pizza joint Cane Rosso will be on Food Network. But unlike in 2012, when one spiky-haired chef helped make the Neapolitan pizza place nationally famous on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, this premiere is a Guy Fieri spinoff show.

The show is called Triple D Nation, and producers from Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives revisit some of the restaurants previously featured — restaurants considered the “best of Flavortown," says one page on Food Network’s website.

Cane Rosso is the only restaurant in Dallas-Fort Worth featured on the Feb. 28 episode. (The others are a Thai restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii, and a “pizza-ping pong mashup” in Washington, D.C.)

Cane Rosso owner Jay Jerrier and his crew filmed the Triple D Nation episode in August 2019 at Cane Rosso in Carrollton. The restaurant has grown over the years to six shops in North Texas, one in Houston and one in Austin.

Jerrier credits the Food Network for bringing in business from all over the country — still. Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives is a wildly popular show, and it has helped plenty of Dallas-Fort Worth businesses garner continued support from TV foodies.

Barbecue joint Pecan Lodge and Burger place Twisted Root have reaped similar benefits after a fiery visit from Fieri.

Jesus Carmona is the owner of Tacos Mariachi, which is one of six restaurants featured on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on Food Network in early 2018.

On Triple D Nation, Cane Rosso’s crew cooked zucchini and artichoke fritters and a pizza called the Billy Ray Valentine: mozzarella, vodka sauce, smoked bacon, bacon marmalade and Sweety Drop peppers.

On Friday, Feb. 28 starting at 6 p.m., all Cane Rosso restaurants are hosting a watch party and will sell the Billy Ray Valentine pizza for $10.

Cane Rosso’s premiere on Triple D Nation airs at 8 p.m. Feb. 28.

Cane Rosso in Carrollton — where the Triple D Nation filming took place — is at 1301 S Broadway St. All Cane Rosso restaurants are having a watch party during the premiere.
