CASPER, Wyo — The Rescued Treasures Thrift Shop got a new fence for its donation area last weekend thank to labor and services from the community.

Wyoming Rescue Mission events manager Jenny Stedellie said Tommy Allen and his wife did a lot of the footwork and planning for the project and provided lunch.

John Martin Jr. and Dirty Dozen Fab & Welding donated $3,850 worth of labor, and High Country Fabrication and Frankie Fordyce donated the sign. Martin’s Tae Kwon Do provided volunteer labor.

According to the thrift store’s management, vandalism had been on the rise over the past year, leading to constant repairs of the old fence and cessation of after-hours donation drop-offs.

Stedillie said the Wyoming Rescue Mission is able to fund a third of its operations from the thrift store.

“We are so blessed by this community. Thank you all so very much for giving us a beautiful, secure fence!” said Wyoming Rescue Mission.
