The Huskers Radio Network announced today the hiring of Jessica Coody as Sports Nightly co-host and Husker Radio contributor.  Coody comes to Nebraska after spending the last nine seasons with The University of Oklahoma Athletics department where she served as a sideline/digital reporter, television/radio host, play-by-play announcer and feature producer. 

Coody began calling play-by-play for OU women's basketball in 2017 and in December of 2020, became the first woman ever to call play-by-play for Oklahoma men's basketball.  She launched and hosted a podcast featuring women's athletics at OU and served as a regular contributor to the Sooner Sports Podcast.  Outside of her work at OU, Coody has worked for TNT covering the 2016 Final Four and worked with Fox Sports as a sideline reporter covering Big 12 Championships.  Prior to that, Coody worked in local news in Midland, Texas and Oklahoma City.

Coody will begin co-hosting Sports Nightly with voice of the Huskers Greg Sharpe on July 1 when Nebraska Athletics officially transitions the Husker radio programming from Learfield/IMG College.
 
Brandon Meier, Nebraska's Senior Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Multimedia will oversee the Huskers Radio Network operation and is currently putting the finishing touches on the new HRN Studios inside East Stadium.

"We have an all-star team of experienced radio professionals that will provide the Nebraska fan base with unprecedented coverage of all our teams.  Radio has a rich history at Nebraska and I'm excited to build on the great foundation that has been established over the years."
 
Nebraska has one of the largest radio networks in the country with over 50 local and regional affiliates and produces more than 1500 hours of radio programming annually.
