You’ve seen the first 22 Young Stars as ranked by MLB Network. Now, it’s time for fans to decide who shines brightest of them all.
Three of the game's most electric players -- Ronald Acuña Jr., Juan Soto and Fernando Tatis Jr. -- are vying for bragging rights as MLB Network chooses the top players under the age of 25. These three will finish, in some order, atop that list, having beaten out Rafael Devers, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette and others.
Will fans choose Braves phenom Acuña Jr., 23, who won the 2018 National League Rookie of the Year Award and is already a two-time Silver Slugger Award winner? He was the youngest player ever with a 40-homer, 30-steal season, and currently leads the NL with 18 home runs.
Or will fans look elsewhere in the NL East and choose Soto? The 22-year-old Nationals sensation is the only player in the top three with a World Series championship and a batting title under his belt. Soto made his MLB debut at 19 years old, finishing second in the NL Rookie of the Year Award voting to Acuña during the ‘18 season.
Or maybe the choice will be a Fernando Tatis Jr., who has said he wants to become the “Dominican Derek Jeter.” The 22-year-old is the youngest player in this bunch, but he’s finished the highest in MVP Award voting with a fourth-place showing in 2020. Tatis has helped put San Diego on the map as a bat-flipping, grand-slam-loving contender.
