September 1 (Renewables Now) - US solar tracker maker Nextracker Inc yesterday said its technology has been chosen for Arevon Energy Inc’s upcoming 1.5-GW portfolio of five projects in Indiana and two in Nevada.
The solar power plants will feature NX Horizon smart trackers with TrueCapture and NX Navigator software and control systems for monitoring, control and asset management.
The portfolio includes the 200-MW Elliott, 280-MW Gibson, 150-MW Ratts 1, 150-MW Ratts 2 and 300-MW Posey facilities in Indiana, the 250-MW Citadel project outside of Reno, Nevada, as well as the 232-MW Townsite plant project in Boulder City, Nevada, a location that recently welcomed a visit from the US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm.
All of the sites are expected to be up and running by the end of 2023.
According to Justin Johnson, Arevon's executive vice president and chief operating officer, the use of Nextracker technology will help standardise construction practices across the portfolio and create efficiencies and greater cost savings.
The creation of renewable energy company Arevon Energy was announced recently as a combination of Capital Dynamics’ US Clean Energy Infrastructure team and Arevon Asset Management, Capital Dynamics’ former exclusive energy asset management affiliate.
