Food pantry network gives thanks - Midland Daily News

The 11th mobile food pantry of the Midland County Emergency Food Pantry Network of this year was hosted on Thursday, Oct. 21 in the parking lot of Midland Bethel Church of the Nazarene, 3490 E. Baker Road in Mills Township in Midland County. The giveaway of 10,919 pounds of free food was funded by many donors to the Network.

The 30 volunteers served 130 families (329 individuals) in the drive-thru, no contact distribution. Food purchased from the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan included fresh eggs, milk, macaroni and cheese, green beans, vegetable soup, peanut butter, peaches, squash, potatoes, carrots, cereals and snacks.

The next food giveaway is scheduled for Nov. 2 in the parking lot of Midland High School on Eastlawn Drive in Midland.

The network is very grateful to the many donors of food, money and time to the Network's mission of "Always food in every home." Midland County residents in (financial) need of food during the year may dial 211 and request the Midland County Emergency Food Pantry Network for food assistance or may dial the network directly at 989-486-9393 and press 1 to leave a message.
