Bulldog sports network announces coverage - The Pioneer

BIG RAPIDS - The Bulldog Sports Network and local flagship station Sunny 97.3 FM have announced expanded coverage plans this week for the Bulldogs' appearance in the 2021 NCAA Division II National Championship Game in McKinney, Texas.

The Voice of the Bulldogs will air a special one-hour "National Championship Preview" show this Thursday (Dec. 16) evening from 6-7 p.m. from the team hotel in Texas. It will be hosted by the veteran broadcast crew of Rob Bentley and Sandy Gholston with a look inside and preview of Saturday's title game matchup.

Additionally, on Saturday, the Johnson Automotive Pregame Show will begin an hour prior to kickoff with an expanded pregame show on Sunny 97.3 FM at 8 p.m. as Bentley and Gholston team up once again. The duo will then call the battle between the Bulldogs and the Valdosta State (Ga.) Blazers live from the McKinney ISD Stadium with kickoff set for 9:03 p.m. The Preferred Office Machines postgame show will follow the tilt.

The preview show, pregame show and the game broadcast will all be carried live both on Sunny 97.3 FM and online across the Bulldog Sports Network at FerrisStateBulldogs.com. Saturday's game will be televised by ESPNU.

Additionally, the Bulldog Sports Network will provide coverage throughout the week with video reports and interviews along with social media updates from practices, events and the trip online at FerrisStateBulldogs.com.

Bus sold out

Ferris State University has announced the student and fan bus package for this week's NCAA Division II National Championship game in Texas is sold out.

The Bulldogs have reached capacity and there is currently a waiting list for the trip, which departs on Thursday and returns on Dec. 20.

Registrations were slated to be accepted until Tuesday afternoon or until the busses reached capacity, which happened only a few hours after the package went on sale Monday morning.
Ferris State and Valdosta State will square off in the D2 National Championship game on Saturday night with kickoff set for 9:03 p.m. on ESPNU from the McKinney ISD Stadium.
