HOUSTON – Sunday, May 15, 2022, kicked off Senior Week for graduating seniors in the Houston Independent School District and we couldn’t let them go out without a great send-off!
One area nonprofit is helping aid in the celebration by hosting events intended to equip the future graduates for their next steps.
According to a Legends Do Live and Educational Entertainment press release, several events will be taking place which will include educational panels, job fairs, and entertainment for graduating seniors from Madison, Worthing, and Yates High School.
Seniors were also invited to participate in events that support community outreach including a garden clean-up for Earth Day back in April.
May 15 - All-star fundraiser basketball game
4 p.m. at The Pavillion Stadium
Senior fest will start off with an All-star Scholarship Basketball Game featuring star HISD basketball players. Two male students and two females will also be awarded a college scholarship.
SENIOR FEST 2022′s Empowerment Forums, powered by My Brother’s Keeper (MBK), will feature a series of panel discussions, keynote speakers, job fairs, and scholarship giveaways.

Performers from HISD, and other special guests, including members from the debut Educational Entertainment mixtape entitled “Field Day”, will take the stage in front of an audience of 1,000 students from the participating schools.

Senior Fest 2022 will partner with the largest Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders organization, Have a nice day | HTX, for a market-style experience, featuring farmers and vendors from the surrounding areas. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the literacy initiative, Reading with a Rapper, which helps underserved communities bridge the literacy gap.
